At the turn of the 19th century, the 7th Duke of Atholl chose the romantic site of Dunkeld, on the banks of the river Tay, to build a Highland home for his Duchess, in keeping with the outstanding beauty of the surrounding Perthshire countryside.
The landscape has changed little since the days of the Duke and Duchess, however the county house has been restored to its former glory. The Tay is still one of Scotland's finest salmon rivers, and the 200 acre estate is a colourful tapestry of trees, flowers and woodland walkways. All the pleasures of a bygone age are here in abundance, but now they are all the more enjoyable, thanks to the comforts of the modern world.
The beautifully designed Atholl Lodges offer a standard of grace and elegance unique in modern architecture. Inside, the luxury continues, with space to accommodate six people in comfort and style. Whatever the weather, a fully adjustable central heating system makes sure the temperature is just right, and with large double-glazed windows and patio doors, you can enjoy the splendid view without losing any of the warmth. Each lodge boasts two main bedrooms. The master bedroom, with its double bed, fitted wardrobes and en- suite bathroom, is beautifully spacious, and includes the real luxury of its own private spa bath.
All lodges are within easy reach of the car park.
