Once again, we would like to say hello to all our members and bring you up to date with current news within the timeshare industry and of course UK Resort Exchange.
Over the past year it has saddened us to learn many of our members have now passed on. We would like to extend our heartfelt condolences to their families and thank them for their loyalty over the years. We especially hope that UKRE has contributed to some wonderful holiday memories and that you all continue to stay in touch with us.
We have been aware for some time that the Timeshare Industry in the UK has been taking a downward spiral in particular resorts in England. Many resorts in the South of England closed because most were on a 25-year lease and these leases have now expired others have converted to Fractional Share or Points where they can exchange within their own circle of resorts some still use us. Another downfall is that over the years many resorts have just not been proactive enough to reach the younger generation and many just relied on their existing owner base by way of Management Fees backed up by Rentals and now a handful of resorts are allowing their owners to exit by paying their way out and this can be by the way of a hefty levy. Sadly, there is no news that any new developments are in the pipeline.
St. David’s in Wales will close at the end of week 52, 2027. Also please be aware there is no longer pet friendly resorts in England. Barnsdale resort will close on 31st August 2028.
We have had to rethink about members retaining weeks indefinitely, so we are limiting this service. Weeks can be held for TEN years, and Membership Fees must be kept up to date.
If any member can recommend or know anyone that has a Private Holiday Home and join us, we will give you £10.00 off your next Exchange Fee, we need help to open this market.
We no longer offer SELECT Membership but will honour those who have until it expires.
Many of our members have spoken with Saffron Mullen over the years. Saffron has now left UKRE she has had a little baby boy and felt she had to spend her time with baby Gabrial, and we wish the best and thanks for all her efforts over the years and we know she will be a great mum.
